Operating a camera can be a fantastic way to get started, there are various camera positions that require different skills and expertise.
From capturing the action on the court to focusing on the reactions of the coaches and players, camera operators play a crucial role in bringing the game to life for viewers.
Wide Camera - Typically positioned high above the court, this camera captures the overall action and provides a wide shot of the game.
Handheld Camera - Used to capture close-up shots of players, coaches, or other individuals, often providing a more intimate and dynamic perspective on the game.
Replay Camera - Typically a camera with a telephoto lens best used to capture detailed replays of key moments in the game, such as slam dunks or game-changing plays.

Technical Director (TD)
Operates the video switcher, executing the director's vision and ensuring a seamless broadcast
Replay Operator
Operates the replay system, capturing and preparing clips for playback during the broadcast and editing highlights for the half time show
Camera Operator
Operates cameras to capture the action on the court, including main cameras, sideline cameras and wireless cameras
Graphics Operator
Creates and adds graphics, such as scores, stats, and sponsor logos, to the broadcast
Sound Engineer
Responsible for setting up mics, ensuring high-quality sound is captured and balanced with the commentators audio
OB Rigger
